Many cell phone repair technicians check batteries with the help of the tongue. I know, it is quite funny and traditional method of checking the battery which is a very unethical too. It is equally a funny method. Still, it will get you the result. Cell phone repair technicians just touch the tip of their tongue to the ‘+’ terminal of the battery. If it gives a sort of current or spicy taste, it means the battery is charged. While, if you do not feel anything on the tip of your tongue and if it does not give the above effect then its charging is down. I have just written this method for knowledge purpose only and strongly recommend not to try it unless it’s an emergency!

How to check a fast draining battery?

If your battery is draining very fast even after fully charging it, in such case, you will have to get it checked obviously. A multimeter will not help in that case. This is because a multimeter will just show how much charge is there on the battery. But if the battery’s chemical inside has become weak or worn out, it will discharge quickly.

Below are the3 methods through which, you can check it any of the below:

·         Test your battery in another same working model. If it discharges fast in that handset too, it’s become faulty.

·         There are special battery check machines which will test it

·         Put a new battery in your handset and check. If the problem is solved, your older battery is faulty.

So you just have to replace it if the battery is faulty. But what if it’s good and still your phone is discharging? Then there could be some kind of fault related to short-circuit or hardware in the PCB. Try servicing the PCB with a circuit cleaner.
